Giorgio Caporaso received an Honorable Mention at the 29th Compasso d'Oro for his IncasTree project. Design for wood: from schools to companies, a project that focuses on sustainable design, the circular economy, the valorization of PEFC-certified wood, and training. Press release | Info & Photos
Essenze Geometriche is a project by Giorgio Caporaso in collaboration with PEFC Italia, created to convey a new idea of beauty: essential, circular, and conscious.
Dots, Lines, Rings, and Surfaces transform PEFC-certified wood and recycled materials into objects capable of inspiring, evolving, and giving new life to the material.
With the contribution of Panguaneta and TABU, the Italian wood supply chain becomes the protagonist of a story that combines design, responsibility, and a vision of the future.
The project is part of the pursuit of sustainable design and the circular economy and was created with the goal of enhancing materials and reducing waste. The collection combines wood from PEFC-certified forests with processing waste, recovered and transformed into new design elements.Press release | Info & Photos
The Foresta Collection was designed and produced to support the international "Forests are home" campaign by PEFC Italia (the association that governs the forest certification system and of which Giorgio Caporaso is artistic director).
The collection exhibited at the Fabbrica del Vapore features a sustainable living room made from PEFC-certified wood, consisting of a chair/armchair (Foresta), a low table (Sottobosco), a dynamic coffee table (Stelo) that can also function as a stool, and a modular and sectional bookcase (Rami). This collection is further enriched by a new element in recycled cardboard and wood, a modular and sectional system (Moretto plus) with a cardboard body and blue wood finishes.
The Foresta collection featured a wall of recycled and recyclable cardboard, on which street artist Fabrizio Sarti, known as Seacreative, created an everyday artwork inspired by the themes of sustainable forest management and the ecosystem services provided by woods.
At the SAG'80 showroom in Milan at Via Boccaccio 4, Giorgio Caporaso presents a major innovation: a freestanding, modular room divider or "filtering" screen made of PEFC-certified wood and a special fabric.
This denim, produced by Candiani, is made from recycled nonwoven geotextiles made with LENZING™ cellulose fibers, used to protect glaciers and prevent microplastic pollution. These fabrics are biodegradable and can be entirely reused at the end of their life cycle. This fabric, used for the first time to create a design object, was dyed in two shades of natural colors by Phillacolor for the occasion.
